Beyblade X Official Regulations (Takara Tomy, Asia)

The official Beyblade X rules for events and tournaments: legal Beys and stadiums, Bey checks, how to shoot, how points are scored and the 3on3, 3-Blader and team formats.

Takara Tomy’s “Beyblade X Regulations (Asia ver.)” apply to everyone taking part in official events and tournaments. This page sums up the 12th edition, dated March 2026. Two words come up a lot: a battle is one launch that ends with a winner or loser, and a match is a series of battles until someone wins overall.

  • Only the Beyblade X series, released from July 2023, can be used. Older Beys, launchers, stadiums and tools are not allowed.
  • Beys in the “Hall of Fame” cannot be used in single-Bey battles. They can still be used in battles with several Beys, such as 3on3 and team battles.
  • Only official Beyblade X parts can be used for customizing. Leaving out parts, or combining them in ways they weren’t made for, is prohibited.
  • Taking parts apart, modifying them, or using parts whose original performance was changed is prohibited.
  • Paint is allowed only on the areas the rulebook marks on each Blade, Ratchet and Bit, and only if it doesn’t change performance, damage the opponent’s Bey or stadium, or cover contact areas.
  • Unofficial stickers, stickers on contact areas, cut-out stickers and stacked stickers are generally prohibited.
  • Any unauthorized modification or cheating judged to be intentional may lead to disqualification. The judge’s decisions are final.

Bey checks

  • After you present your Bey, you can’t change it unless the judge says so. If a change is allowed, both players may change.
  • The judge removes the Blades, Lock Chips, Ratchets and Bits from each Bey, checks every part, and gives the Bey back unassembled.
  • Players show each other the front and back of their Beys without handing them over.
  • You can’t swap Beys or parts between battles. Once a match is over and your opponent changes, you can.
  • Questions about a Bey check must be raised with the judge on the spot.

Launchers and grips

  • Launchers and grips follow the same rules: no missing parts, no wrong assembly, no disassembled or modified parts, and no coatings or stickers that change performance.
  • If the judge finds a launcher or grip modified or defective, it can’t be used. A replaced launcher or grip gets checked again.

Stadiums and zones

  • Only Beyblade X stadiums can be used. A stadium is the stadium body plus the stadium cover. The shoot area is the hole in the center of the cover.
  • Xtreme Stadium: the Over Zones are the two pockets at the front left and right, the Xtreme Zone is the hole at the center front, and the rest of the stadium body is the Battle Zone.
  • Wide Xtreme Stadium: the Over Zone is the hole at the center front, and the Xtreme Zones are the two holes at the back left and right.
  • Infinity Stadium: the Over Zones are the four pockets at the front and back on each side, and the Xtreme Zones are the two holes at the center front and back.

How to shoot

  • Shoot from 20 cm or less above the stadium body.
  • Pick your shooting position (left, right, or center on the Wide Xtreme Stadium) by a fair method such as rock-paper-scissors. You can’t change it during that match.
  • Everyone shoots on the call “Three, Two, One, Go Shoot”, launching during the word “Shoot”.
  • Your Bey must go through the shoot area. Don’t launch with the Bey already resting on the stadium.
  • Don’t let your body, launcher or accessories touch your opponent or the stadium, or get in the way of their stance. Intentional contact can mean disqualification.
  • After shooting, step back one step. Don’t lean in to look into the stadium.

Shooting errors and false starts

  • Shooting error: the Bey doesn’t release, falls off after the countdown, or misses the shoot area and hits the outside of the stadium or cover.
  • Premature launch (false start): shooting before “Shoot” is called.
  • Delayed launch: shooting after the call has finished.
  • If a player makes a total of two of these in the same battle, their opponent gets 1 point and the battle is replayed. Once any point is scored, earlier errors are wiped.

Scoring

The first player to 4 points wins the match. Points only count if the battle started without a shooting error, premature launch or delayed launch.

FinishWhat happensPoints
Xtreme FinishThe opponent’s Bey goes fully into the Xtreme Zone and can’t get back to the Battle Zone3
Over FinishThe opponent’s Bey goes fully into an Over Zone and can’t get back to the Battle Zone2
Burst FinishParts of the opponent’s Bey come apart first (Blade, Lock Chip, Ratchet, Bit and so on)2
Spin FinishThe opponent’s Bey stops spinning in its original direction in the Battle Zone first1
  • Xtreme and Over Finishes are subject to the judge’s call.
  • The Bullet that detaches from the Griffon doesn’t count as a Burst. Only the main body counts.
  • If finishes happen at the same moment, it’s a draw and the battle is restarted.
  • If several finishes happen one after another, the first one counts.
  • Reverse: if a Bey enters the Xtreme or Over Zone, or leaves the stadium, and comes back to the Battle Zone still spinning, the finish is cancelled and the battle continues.
  • Touching Beys in the stadium before the judge announces the result can cost you the match.
  • If no finish can be decided, for example when a Bey leaves the stadium somewhere other than a zone, the judge may replay the battle.

3on3 battles

  • Put your three Beys in the deck case in battle order before the Bey check. You can’t change the order or combination during the match without the judge’s permission.
  • You can’t use the same part twice across your three Beys, even in different colors. Lock Chips are the exception: only the Custom Line “Valkyrie” and “Emperor” Lock Chips are limited to one each.
  • If you can’t bring three Beys, the judge gives you a rental Bey, and you must use it for every battle.
  • First to 4 points wins. Draws are replayed with the same Beys. If there’s no winner after three battles, you may reorder your Beys and keep going.

3-Blader battles

  • Three players battle at once, and the last one still in wins.
  • 5-point system: the last player remaining gets the points from the other two players’ finishes. First to 5 points wins.
  • Best-of-two-wins system: the last player remaining gets one win, whatever the finish. First to two wins is the overall winner.

Team battles

  • Teams must have the number of members the tournament sets. Team members can’t share the same part across their Beys.
  • Matches are elimination style, and each battle is first to 2 points.
  • The winner stays on and the loser is replaced by the next team member. Points don’t carry over when a new opponent steps in.
  • The first team to beat every opposing Blader wins.

Conduct

  • No coaching that disrupts fair play, no intimidating cheering, and no verbal abuse of players, spectators, staff or judges.
  • Don’t use a Blader name that’s offensive or that shows your full real name.
  • Don’t post videos or photos that reveal other people’s personal information or could defame them.
  • Individual tournaments can set their own rules, and those may take priority for that event.
